South African Entrepreneurs Movement SAEM
One Movement. One Voice. One Future.
A movement for entrepreneur activists
The South African Entrepreneurs Movement is a national movement of entrepreneurs, business owners, innovators, farmers, professionals, contractors, service providers and economic activists united by a common belief.
We are not a political party.
We are a movement of entrepreneur activists who use business, innovation and collective action to drive economic and social change.
What is an entrepreneur activist?
An entrepreneur activist leverages business and commercial strategies to create social, economic and political change.
Entrepreneur activists create practical solutions that solve real problems and support communities.
They use business to create jobs, generate wealth and open doors for others.
They challenge systems that limit growth and call for accountability where it is needed.
- Build businesses that solve real problems.
- Create economic opportunities.
- Challenge systems that limit growth.
- Advocate for fairness and accountability.
- Use entrepreneurship as a force for positive change.
A South Africa where entrepreneurs are respected, protected and empowered
SAEM exists to help build a country where entrepreneurs can drive economic growth, create jobs and transform communities.
- Government honours its obligations.
- Entrepreneurs are treated fairly.
- Corruption is defeated.
- Innovation is rewarded.
- Small businesses thrive.
- Every South African has an opportunity to participate in the economy.
Uniting entrepreneurs into a powerful national movement
Our mission is to unite entrepreneurs across South Africa into a movement that advocates for accountability, economic justice and an environment where businesses can grow and create jobs.
Entrepreneurs can no longer suffer in silence
Across South Africa, thousands of entrepreneurs are under pressure because of late payments, corruption, unfair processes, red tape and a lack of collective representation.
- Government departments fail to pay invoices within 30 days.
- Corruption destroys businesses.
- Tender processes are often unfair.
- Small businesses face excessive red tape.
- Entrepreneurs have little collective representation.
- Job creators are treated as adversaries instead of partners.
Many businesses have closed. Many entrepreneurs have lost their life savings. Many workers have lost their jobs.
This movement exists because entrepreneurs need a united voice.
What SAEM stands for
Payment of all legitimate government invoices
Government must pay suppliers within the legally prescribed period, and officials who fail to comply must be held personally accountable.
Zero tolerance for corruption
We support whistleblowers and demand strong action against corruption in both the public and private sectors.
Protection of entrepreneurs
Entrepreneurs should not face intimidation, abuse of power or unfair treatment for speaking out.
Equal economic opportunities
Every entrepreneur must have access to markets, funding and opportunities regardless of background.
Reducing red tape
Government processes must become simpler, faster and more business-friendly.
Job creation through entrepreneurship
The most sustainable way to fight poverty is by supporting entrepreneurs who create jobs.
Support for township and rural entrepreneurs
Economic opportunity must reach every village, township and community.
The principles that guide this movement
Everyone must answer for their actions.
We stand for ethical leadership and honest business practices.
We speak truth to power.
Together we are stronger.
Entrepreneurs solve problems and create opportunities.
No South African should be excluded from participating in the economy.
We pledge to build responsibly and act with purpose
- To conduct business ethically.
- To reject corruption.
- To support fellow entrepreneurs.
- To create jobs and opportunities.
- To stand up for what is right.
- To use entrepreneurship as a force for good.
